Our Vision
“We strive for a Constitution grounded in limited, moral government; a Republican platform grounded in that Constitution, a Republican government grounded in that platform, and a people grounded in moral self-governance.”
Legitimate government demands a Constitution that reliably defines the functions, the limits, and the ownership of that government itself. A sound Party demands a platform grounded in that Constitution first, and with well-defined statements of the beliefs of the Party. A sound Republic demands representatives of the people who dependably support and act on the specific beliefs they claimed when elected. And, a free people demand the power to govern themselves as well as the right to replace that government, that platform, and that Constitution when any of those fails in its design.
The Greene County Missouri Republican Assembly envisions a free and moral people, represented in government by individuals elected to uphold the beliefs of our platform, written to support a limited government Constitution. Specifically we support:
1. The sanctity of life, from conception to natural death. No human being has the right to take the life of another innocent human being. Any just government exists, first and foremost, to protect that right to life – especially that right to life for those unable to protect it for themselves. Any government that tolerates or condones the taking of innocent life is neither just nor moral.
2. A free market economy and an end to crony capitalism in all forms. There is no place in a free market for cronyism, government subsidies to profit-making entities, or taxpayer money being used to prop up business. The endless flow of citizen’s money to favored businesses is detrimental to free markets. With a focus on lower taxes, Republicans must recognize that the first place to cut is any money collected from citizens and paid to business interests.“God-given rights for all citizens, including the fundamental right to life for born and unborn children, the aged, the terminally ill, and the handicapped, should be provided for in our laws and in our Constitution.” — from the MOGOP platform
3. Limited and enumerated federal power and all other powers”reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The federal government has some specific powers delegated in the Constitution. All other powers are to remain with the States. Missouri must step up and demand that the federal government allow us to exercise the powers that Constitutionally belong to us. We must partner with other States, where possible, in this effort. Anti-commandeering efforts are successful ways to facilitate this, and have been upheld almost always by courts as a Constitutional method of state push-back on overreach by the federal government.“The people of Missouri should be taxed only to the extent necessary to provide a balanced budget, funding the essential functions of government in a manner that is simple, equitable and uniform. Missouri families can be trusted to know how to spend their money more wisely than government. Free enterprise and fiscal responsibility go hand in hand.” — from the MOGOP platform
4. The protection of every individual’s right to religious liberty, uninhibited by the State or by other individuals or institutions. Every Missouri citizen is equally free to observe every doctrine of their religion in their private, public, or business life without undo interference from government. It is a legitimate function of government of Missouri to protect this right from interference by any agency of any government. Every citizen has equal rights and protections irrespective of their individual religious beliefs or lack of religious belief.“…the federal government should be ‘to ensure domestic tranquility, to provide for the common defense and to promote the general welfare.’ And we believe that the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution grants all other duties to the states.” — from the MOGOP platform
“The Missouri Republican Party believes in protecting the religious freedom of citizens.” — from the MOGOP platform

We will work hand-in-hand with like-minded Republican organizations to ensure that our vision is understood. We will work to ensure that all Republican voters in Greene County are exposed to the State Republican platform. We will endorse Republican candidates in primary elections who support that platform.
